About:

I'm the old fart you hear about that never grows up. I like to do things differently, that's why I drive j-body cars (Sunfire and Cavaliers of which I have 4, 2 of each). My 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier is supercharged/NOS setup (70-shot) and does flat 13's in the 1/4. It'll smoke 'em all the way to 3rd gear and I regularly school Corvettes, Mushtangs and Civics (on the track, of course). I'm a REAL driver, not one of these idiots you've had on your show who just have lots of cash laying around and no driving skills. I'm a professionally trained driver and trains professional drivers, in autos and semi-tractor trailers. I SCCA race. I jump out of airplanes, skateboard, play video games and go to car shows with my partner, John Pfander...and keep my lovely wife happy so I can keep my balls...and cars.

Mission Statement:

Team Shattered Concepts exists to show people that there are other ways to have fun with cars other than going out and spending stupid amounts of money trying to impress people who have more money (and equally fewer brain cells) than you do.

We drive unorthodox cars with unorthodox modifications. Anyone can build a Mushtang, Corvette, Civic, ricer, etc., or go out and buy a Lambo'...then break down on national television with it because you're a non-driving moron.

We exist to show everyday Joe's that your grocery-getter can be made into a fun toy, too, while maintaining safety and a bank account.

We're here to shatter your concepts of performance.

About My Team:

John and I were 'waving' friends. He owns several great cars that he's a nut for detailing, while I let sand build up on the floor. His house was right at the exit to our housing development and we would do the 'guy nod' every time we saw each other, until one day I saw his gorgeous (now dead thanks to a lightning strike) LS-1 at a car show I was at. I walked up to him, walked around it and said "Hey, nice Camaro." ...and walked off.

The second time around, I stopped and we started talking. We've been friends ever since, spending the last two years going to car shows all across the South, him winning a roomful + of trophies and me picking up a few along the way when the judges were forced to concede that my Sunfire GT was a good-looking car, even if it wasn't a 1967 Camaro SS.

I started driving as a teenager (13) with my father when we built a 1957 Chevy Bel Air for the strip. It was so fast (283) on our first day, after we'd forgotten to put the bumper on it and were forced into Frankie Hot Rod up against 340, 440's, etc., that we were protested our first race after we smoked a Duster. I grew up drifting my Corvair Spyder around a half-mile track on our horse farm until my idiot brothers stole the keys and ran it nose-first under my dad's 5-ton dump truck.

In the military, I went to every driving school they had for the Department of Defense, including executive protection classes.

I'm so good at driving that, while living in Detroit, MI for a year, I made a living off purposely getting into accidents with high-dollar cars, because everyone knows, the more expensive the car, the more stupid the driver is and they make easy 'marks.' I made $140K that year in a 1972 Malibu.

I started track racing a few years back and SCCA racing three years ago. I had the first Sunfire they'd ever seen show up for an event. After the day of running, the President of the SCCA chapter in our area wrote in an email that "...never thought that car would run as well as it did. You really know how to drive." I was up against STi's, 2000's, Miatas, RX's...all forced induction, with me and my little NA 2.4.

John's a 'by the book' guy...career military, Ranger, retired, second career as a Quality Control Manager with Shaw Environmental...cash coming out his ears and with a passion for cleanliness I've never seen in anyone else. The guy's an artist with cleaning products and wax. He's a stickler for detail. As a hobby, he turns photographs into pencil drawings. He's good. As far as his driving goes...well, I've outcorned him in his LS-1 'vette in my Sunfire. In his words "So what if you have a Cavalier, you can outdrive everyone out there with it."

With him as a navigator, we could shoot for Mars and make it off dead reckoning. With my years of commercial driving, I pretty much know my way around the states.
