About Me: 27yr old originally from Oklahoma. Always a loyal friend, generally a nice guy, not afraid to jump in and lend a greasy hand. Car is a BMW, but grease cleans off of leather easily. Previous rides include a mostly stock 2004 Nissan Titan Crew Cab, a lightly modified 2002 RSX-S, and even more previous a hand-full of modified Honda's/Acura's. About My Co-Driver: 24yr old, her family is from Brazil. Originally born in Queens, she's not afraid to tell it like it is. We've been best friends for about 3 years now and we both just recently started back to college. Me, after a 5+ year break, her, just a few semesters. She's also not afraid to jump in and lend a greasy hand. Current ride is a slammed 2008 Civic SI sedan; previous rides include a heavily modified MKIV Jetta GLI and a lightly modified Scion tC.
About the Car (yes, the car is part of the team!): Car is a 2003 BMW 330i ZHP. Virtually no modifications, none worth mentioning, I purchased this car nearly 3 years ago and I am the 2nd owner. The 330i ZHP was the closest thing to a 4-door M3 that BMW made in the E46 bodystyle. Not necessarily a "powerhouse" with just 235hp, there is just enough power to get in trouble. Rear Wheel Drive, near 50/50 weight distribution and a slick 6-speed manual transmission keep things entertaining. Challenges for Driver and Co-Driver: One of the biggest challenges we would have on this trip is the lack of Music. Seriously, all of that traveling with no music? Em listens to music while auto-x'ing. Another will be navigating. I believe I'm pretty good at navigating, but I'd rather drive. But in driving, I don't like not knowing where I'm going. As opposed to most teams on Bullrun, I bet we would switch up drivers more often. Although I think I am good at reading maps, I’ve grown accustomed to using the cars DVD based GPS navigation and/or my mobile phone. Lastly, being that we are somewhat young, being disconnected from all forms of communication would be difficult, yet for me, it would be somewhat refreshing. I still kind of remember the days of no cell phones, no texting, no internet, and no e-mail. Challenges for the Car: The car has only let me down a few times. A bad alternator, bent wheel, etc. I believe the car would be reliable for the entire trip, but she is nearing 80,000 miles. Don't let her cleanness fool you, she's been driven hard and put up wet multiple times. She likes it like that. Cars name is ///Molly...
