As usual, carnival time in southern Louisiana is something not to be missed. For the last few years I've been playing in a band on a float in one of the parades here. Even in a small city like Houma, Mardi Gras is like a 20-mile-long street party, with around 30-40 floats in each parade, marching bands, etc. In New Orleans it's even bigger. Music, partying, dancing, everybody having a great time. We played Motown tunes and had a blast making everybody shake their butts! Here's some photos I took of the fun!
