Unless you find a wrecked SRT-4 in the junkyard intact, it might be cheaper to buy one outright. I had considered doing a swap like that, but after I factored in everything, it was about the same price as just buying the nicer car.

By all means, if you find a wrecked, intact SRT-4, give it a shot.

yeah the neon isn't a fast car when compared to other more expensive cars. but it is deceptive. its light, agile, and has something most japanese cars don't have. torque. (relatively speaking) i used to beat up on cars with "more power" a lot. but i just wanna through some things out there for your car. the two cyclinder mis could very well be a coil pack. since the car has 4 cylinders and only 2 coils that means that one coil fires 2 cyl. ign modules rarely fail on these cars and if you've done the plugs and wires already then the coil is the next logical step. egrs are easy. replace the valve. but check the connector when you're there anyway. or just buy the egr blockoff plate and don't worry about the engine light. :) and i ever had a problem with the idle air control solinoid with both my second gens. only after a cold air intake though. moisture from humidity would collect in the passage for the iac and pretty much just hydrolock it. driving it for a while would clear it up and i got real good at stopping with the e-brake and letting the car die and timing lights and the clutch to keep it running. lol not that good or cool. i know my buddy made a comment about swapping in the srt steering rack. honestly don't know if that will work but i do know that getting some r/t front wheel hubs is a good idea because the r/t hubs have more meat to them.
