Well, after an eventful holiday season, death of a family member, loss of a job and a ruptured ear drum, I am happy to report that TEAM BULLITT is back to 110%.
This week started a new job, with a better company. The kids are back in school. And we have a nice clean start to a new year. We are ready and raring to go for the next season, and we have pretty much decided to go run the rally out east with our friends in the Z car. It sounds like a blast, and a chance to meet more of you people.
To date the only other Bullrun team that I have met is Team Audi. We have met several times. The last time Tom was comming through Phoenix the day the real Bullrun rally was supposed to finish up in Scottsdale. He and I drove around together trying to find the party in Scottsdale. Was REALLY funny.
One of the best things about this site is that it has given the opportunity to get to know some really great and interesting people:
Aaron, real car guy, and talented writer.
Scott, great guy, great attitude.
Tom and Rhea, some of the nicest people I have ever met. Good down to earth, and fun to be around. And Tom, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that I know you would make a great salesman because I have seen your wife, Rhea. I don't know what lie you told her, but it must have been a good one.
KS and I have known each other for 5 or 6 years now from the Mustang world. KS is one of those people that it is just fun to sit back and watch. He is also fun to debate with (read argue) lol.
Team TPI, looking forward to breaking bread with you on Thursday.
Team DSM, great looking car. Interesting banter, and genuinely nice people.
I guess that can be said of most of the folks here. Genuinely good folks who share a passion and dream.
Now it is time to do some more prepping of fhe BULLITT so that we will be ready for the next season. I am at a real fork in the road as I have a real desire to keep a collector stock, but at the same time want to have every edge for the show. So far I have limited changes to things that are easily reversable and not done any major alteration. One of the guys at Performance Solutions, the ONLY place I will take the BULLITT other than BERGE FORD for body work, has an IRS out of a COBRA sitting there that he is willing to let me use for a little while... it is a bolt in, no fab necessary, and easily swapped back out after... Things like that I am toying with.
Anyhow, I will keep you posted as we go forward. Here is to a fresh chance for season 3 in 2009!!
