Ford people, if you are reading this contact me immediately because I don't think you know how good this little car is. Seriously, we should talk about perhaps producing some Ford Fusion "MR. ANGRY" editions. I LOVE THIS CAR!"
Anything smaller is considered a small block. There are some medium-blocked 335s and the 351C requires notching the towers in a number of applications, but the 360 is considered to be a big block .. .

i think that besides camaro's and mustang's, back in the 90's trucks were muscle cars too. they only lived by 60's and 70's standards in that they were kinda fast in a strait line, didn't stop good, didn't get good mileage, didn't turn good, and didn't look good. but they had V8's and plenty of power

The list goes on with everyone having a favorite brand they support. I owned a 1968 Plymouth GTX 440 six pack in 1968. One sold at Barrett -Jackson for about $70k in January 2009 . Several are listed for sale on sites up to $112k. Can you imagine taking your restored baby through one of those dirt challenges. The mustang crosses all time boundries from old to new with great performance and eye appeal and I would not have to trash an expensive ride to compete. My hat went off to Team camero when they took that outstanding ride into the challenge without blinking. Great rides all the muscle cars of the past and today. Just looking at them at the car show and auctions is a rush. Pedal down and listen to the sound.
Barrett sold a GT/CS like mine with the smaller engine for 68k awhile back. Prices just got too nuts.I expect them to fall like they did in the 90's. When people treat cars like investments, they stop enjoying them.
The problem I have with Barrett Jackson is that all of the cars that they deal are too nice, it seems like a lot of them are bought to be stored. A car should be driven like it was intended to be.
agreed on the barret jackson. if i were going to buy a car from there im not keeping it in a garage if i just spent 50k for a camaro, mustang, charger etc etc. im burnin up the streets and track with it.
no car is meant to be stored it is meant to be unleashed.

Actually 1972. Emissions standards and the heavy insurance costs rose very sharply that year. Then came the gas shortage that put the nail in the coffin. That was the end of the Muscle Car Era, but I wouldn't say that was the end of muscle cars.
I personally don't consider the Camaro or Mustang to be Muscle Cars. The Chevelle and the Torino yes. But then that's all based on my subjective view. Muscle cars have a full back seat... fer gettin yer groove on hehe.
A True muscle is a pre 1975 due to emissions killing the power. can be small block v8 or big block v8. everthing newer than that is either fast or a sports car, or both.
Muscle cars are full size cars not counting personal luxury like the Monte Carlo or Mark VI Continental. SPeaking of muscle 69 Daytona is what I want the most.

eww completely forgot about the grand nat down right fast g body and yes i do consider that 3.8 v6 a muscle car motor
not a muscle car, just a fast car.

The ULTIMATE Muscle car..... Small car, BIG engine..... no luxury features, NONE..... who needs window cranks and carpet, NOT ME.
1968 Hemi Dart, only came in Primer, factory fiberglass and tubbed rear quarters.
Does it handle good? No.
Does it stop fast? No
Is it comfortable? No
Is it quiet? No
But does it go really quick in a 1/4 mile? Oh hell yea....
They are coming out with the new age Challenger like that too...

Buick GNX. Not big displacement, but they are damn fast, and don't handle real well.
Are we forgetting the Plymouth Superbird? The car that ran away from the competition in NASCAR? I hope not.
Shelby Cobra 427
AMC AMX and Javelin
Jeep SRT8 and Dodge Ram SRT10, and Challenger SRT8 are good examples of modern muscle.
and the list goes on...
