Interested in competing in the 2009 bullrun? I'm half a team and could provide the car... I'm looking to split the entrance fee with someone. Respond if interested!!
Would love to join but with things being tough right now I just can't ask my family to take that much out of our budget. Hope you find a good team Member!

What kind of car? Have you ever driven in a rally? Looking to split entry fee and expenses or just entry fee. Who pays the costs of the road? How old are you? Where are you? Give us some information about your offer. Other wise you are just another poster with big dreams of Bullrun :)
Info please. Calgary is only a 16 hr drive for me to get there (without speeding tickets). Did you also know that in Alberta (Calgary end) they sieze your car automatically if you get caught going more than 40 KMH (25 MPH !!!) over the speed limit! Be prepared to lose it in the first 150 miles to the border!!!!

The Bullrunners in 2008 got a real taste of Alberta Police during the 2008 rally. More of them got pulled over on the first day than they did for the majority of the rally.
I'm pretty sure that the RCMP siezed over 400 vehicles in 2008. No Joke.

Really? I thought in Canada at 50 km/h over the speed limit you had to appear in court, but wasn't aware of the seizing of the vehicle factor for speeding.
I'm 34, in Edmonton, Alberta and have a 07 ML63 AMG. I'm looking to split all costs associated with the rally. Even when splitting costs, with the current value of our cdn dollar I'm looking at probably $15G in expenses - pricey but it may be doable considering it's a once in a lifetime experience.
We know. I don't know how the topic of Canadian rallies came up, but it did.
Edit: Oh I see, Rgind probably thought the 2009 rally was Calgary to Scottsdale. The description for the 2009 Bullrun forum here says Calgary to Scottsdale. It hasn't been updated yet with 2009 info (NY to Austin). Maybe someone should let Shaun know so he can change that for us.
Was kinda wondering about the Calgary/ Scottsdale thing. Makes sense now. By the way, the Alberta RCMP took away a pick-up of mine about 4 years ago when one of my former employees got caught @ 50 km over the limit. Being really polite helps but this guy was never known for his 'Brain Mouth Filter'.

I'd end up going to jail for killing an RCMP if they every tried to take my car. You want to see someone fly off the handle? Try to take my car... Ooooohhhhh the problems that would arise.
I guess I forgot to mention that I would be interested in splitting costs if you are in need of a co-pilot. Wouldn't mind some sort of break-in run to refamiliarize myself with the experience. I have to be in Edmonton in the spring to deal with some family matters. Are you interested in the NY/ Austin run or were you thinking that the run was from Calgary to Scottsdale as I was?
Seaninnh, this is the reason there is gun control up here. We are expected to take whatever the hell they decide is good for us!

Too bad the highways mostly suck up here (speed wise). Alot of two lane stuff where there is no way to hit an offramp and hide out for a couple minutes. Really bad in Western Canada. The Vancouver freeway should be renamed a parking lot. A 'side road' rally would be great fun! Got lots of those coast to coast.

A rally doesn't have to be high speeds. You can have a poker run, scavenger hunt, TSD, or any other theme rally that so you won't go to jail for racing.
It's not hard to do if you have people that want to participate.

I lived in Calgary for nine years, Anyone who know Alberta knows all too well about Deerfoot trail. I was caught for speeding from Edmonton to Calgary. They clocked me doing 217 km/h. I kept the car but paid $1300 cdn in fines. I was driving my friends 1997 toyota Supra twin turbo, it was worth every penny. Just thought I'd share that. I agree, we need a Canadian Bull Run. I'm thinking, Vancouver to Halifax ?????

Well, the police in southern Alberta (Calgary area) seem to be more strict than the upper Alberta RCMP. I think we drive faster down here in Calgary.
