In this article we’ll start off with a very interesting subject, “Laser Jammers”.   The most popular being the M20 and M40 Blinders. The M20 and M40 blinders will jam any radar or laser gun making it virtually impossible for anyone to get a speed reading on your vehicle. The M40 is the same as the M20, except it includes 4 transceivers for Front and Rear protection.

How it works:

It’s great to use Blinders along side your radar detectors, because radar detectors are passive devices. It simply recognizes the presence of radar. Blinders are way more sophisticated and take an active role in preventing tickets. In addition to the basic receiver, blinders have their own radio transmitter, which emits a jamming signal.

Essentially, the signal replicates the original signal from the radar gun, but mixes it with additional radio noise. With this information added, the radar receiver gets a confusing echo signal, and an accurate speed cannot be read.

Please note that there is a HUGE difference between a laser blinder and a radar jammer. You DO NOT want to have radar jammers on your car as that is a federal offence and requires special FCC licensing that you probably won’t get.

How to use it:

Once you detect any kind of radar or tracking activity, slow down. Immediately switch your equipment OFF. You do not want to throw up any red flags as multiple readings are necessary for you to get a ticket. You should be driving reasonable speeds anyway so getting down in speed should not be a problem. 

Please know that blinders are illegal in certain states so make sure you check to see if they are right for you.

The bottom line is no radar detector or blinder is 100 percent effective; even with a top-of-the-line detection and jamming system, you still might get caught speeding.
