Carbon Offset

Have any of you contributed money yet? I've had trouble calculating how much damage 'being a human' is causing the planet. Do you base your calculations on sitting in traffic, getting 0 mpg? Do I base it on the fuel I burn at my usual 100mph? Do I pay them according to my fuel consumption when I am rarely doing the speed limit? I just don't knowwww... MMMMMM, Cookie break!!!
I researched it before at length, and I personally feel its a sham, how can you be sure the money is going to offset carbon output. The money would be better spend on a tune up or performance parts that make you car run cleaner and faster.

The green movement is a profitable scam.
Humans are the ultimate egotists to beleive they have as much control over nature as many global warming proponents would like us to think. I drive a renewable fuel vehicle. Thats the extent of my green involvement.

A computer model can show someone whatever they want. not to mention a lot of the politicians in washington have something to gain if more "green" legislation gets through. oh and the whole al gore won't debate anyone that disagrees with doesn't sit well with me.
