If you posted this in the general forum, this would have been turned into a perverted thread in seconds.. I have no clue what the noise could be.. maybe something with the steering column?

My guess is the sound is a 20 year old Acura slowly rotting away...lol.

I really have no idea either.

Is the car running in the video ?

Is anyone behind the wheel ?

Is it in gear or park ?

I think Lil Matthew is under the hood with a mini hammer sending morse code trying to be rescued before Tony finds him again.

replaced the gearbox, its part of the steering rack.... how many front ends have you had rebuilt Nate? lol..

also, it doesn't make the noise when the front end is lifted.... or if the weight of the car is on, say jackstands on the lower control arms and tires off... but its not the rims... I'm wondering if maybe the shocks, but then wouldn't it make noise if the car was on jackstands at the lower shock mount area (whatever the name is for that damnin thing on the lower control arm)?

I hate hondas

If you watch closely the tire is barely moving. It stop when before she starts to turn it in the opposit direction. I've had some messed up front end probs with cars, but not this one.

How are the breaks on the car ?

Does the car roll easy ?  (not running, in neutral, no e-brake on)

Does the person behind the wheel have their foot on the brake ?

Is the car on a incline of any sort ?

Is the noise present while the car is moving or just sitting still ?

Bear with me on the questions, I used to find the wierdest crap wrong with cars. Was a technican and service Mgr. for a long time.

brakes are reciently replaced...

car rolls easily

doesn't matter if foot is on the brake or just parking brake on or nothing, does it at slow (like less that 5mph) speeds too

no

doesn't make the noise under normal driving conditions

awesome, thanks

Cant be sure. wish the car was close by so I could check it out.

I would check out the stabilizer bushings and the frame / cradle under the front end where it comes in contact with the under side of the body. Not sure about Acuras, but GM front wheel drive cars have a cradle / frame under the front end with approx 4 to 6 bolts that mount it to the body and everything including the engine and steering rack are mounted to it.  The body bushings could be deteriorated and causing some play or movement in that area.

With everything in the front of the car being mounted to the cradle / frame,  when the steering wheel is moved back and forth it could cause the frame to gripe against the body.

This one is a long shot.......  Also make sure you dont have a brake caliper sticking or a brake hose collapsed causing the caliper to hold. I have heard similar noises out of front brakes while at stopped and allowing the car to creep forward a bit but never as loud as what you have with this car.

If I think of any other possibilities I will let you know.

Good luck. B

By the way.....  it would make sense that it does not make the noise when the wheels are off the ground. Its the wheels being on the ground, essentially pushing the frame in the opposite direction when the steering wheel is turned that can cause what I mentioned above.

Other possibility is the strut springs griping up inside the strut tower or where they ride on a rubber bushing.  The bushing could be gone.

thought it might be suspension related. we had it in the air for a few days on end while I found a place to press out the lower ball joints. thought it might be a damaged ball joint, I don't trust too many ppl when it comes to my cars. I'm putting a hydraulic press on my Christmas wish list...

also, it has these torsion bars?? IDK, they just hang out.. not sure what they're for...

the bushings that are related to the steering rack are ok, but the bushings related to the sway bar are a bit old

did I mention I hate Hondas?

Common on acuras for the coil springs to break.. dont kno if they would make that noise tho. also common is the control arm bushings. Good luck

we had recently found a crack on the cross member that connects to the lower control arm, but the crack is on the passenger side and it sounds like the noise is coming directly from the drivers side... and the bushing on the control arm is bad, lol.
