Burnz gets Burnt again, maybe its time to change my name.

I was recently hired to do some finesse work on a guys 91 chevy 1/2 ton pick up. He had gone out and bought one of the cowl peices that cover up the lower part of the windsheild. Like most aftermarket cheep body styling parts it didn't fit worth a dam. The corners of the hood would rub against it I didn't look right at all. Very bad  molding. So he hires me to fix his problem. So for $150 I cut up the stock cowl and shaved the after market one, reformed it with a heat gun just to give it some proper shape. Then I grapht the 2 peices together. After about 4 - 5 hours of work I re-attached it to his truck. Boy it loked real nice,  well for a cowl peice anyways. You could open and close the hood with no rubbing and it followed the rest of the shape the original peice had. I had done a real good job on this one.

The customer come by to pick up his truck.

"What the hell is this?" he inquird with a huge disappointed look on his face. I told him, you brought it to me and wanted me to fix it. so I fixed it. He then told me all he wantede me to do was chop the corners of his hood off. He got into his truck and yelled at me some more and refused to pay and left. Oh, I even gave him another stock cowl in case he should ever want to change it back.

Here is the lesson, If you don't want custom builder like myself who has lots of experience to do a proper job well don't take it there. Instead grab a tool yourself and do your own hack work.
