I have seen several people comment recently that they are willing to put their ride through hell and back on season 3 "as long as my insurance covers it".
Don't fool yourself and think that your ride will be covered by your insurance if you plan to run it into a cider block wall. (see season one team F-150) That footage would make the show and if you were stupid enough to turn in a claim you would find yourself guilty of insurance fraud once your insurance company finds out what happened and they will.
Out on the road during the legs you will be covered BUT any damage that happens to your car during a challenge will need to be covered by you and your teammate. Unless you get a Challenge/Stunt waiver (I doubt you find a company willing to write one of those) if you are NOT willing to cover those costs then you need to reconsider what you are planning to do here.
Andy Duncan has said several times that you need to be willing to lay it on the line and this is what he's talking about. Once State Farm tells you to F- Off (which they will) don't expect anyone else to cover your costs.

I'm not worried. Bring it on! I've been running rallies a few years and have seen first hand how insurance companies treat cars with decals on them. lol.

I was one that made that comment... I used it as a reference to judge severity. I hink everyone here knows that if you treat your car in an uncommon fashion that it WILL NOT BE COVERED. Simple things like legal racing events, overweight towing and even off-roading can null and void your insurance in most cases.
As others have mentioned, my truck is also paid for and I have 3 others so I don't care what happens in the end... BUT I plan to keep it together in order to make it to the end.

I don't even think most insurance companies would cover what happens on the legs.... this comming from a guy that works for lots of insurance companies ;-)
If you got an expensive ride, like the BMW's here, or other fancy cars... find insurance to cover the whole deal.... specially right now if you're a possible canidate
!@#$ happens.
Chicks dig scars/body damage.
I remember the first time I flopped my bronco out in the hills. Everyone was like "thats why you have insurance, right?" Laughed my ass off. My personal experience is that insurance companies are scum, and they would find a way to deny any claim they can. If I make it on Bullrun, I'll just assume I have a $25,000 deductible on my truck.
I would expect to be covered out on the road though. After all, it isn't a race, and no one would even consider breaking any speed limits or other traffic laws!

I doubted that anything would be covered and I'm sure you sign a waiver so bullrun is not responsible. I'm sure thats what happened with EVO. My car can be replaced. Why not go balls out?

If you know your car and what it can do you always have a great shot at winning. no matter the condition! that is what rallying is all about, the driver vs. the road, and the team that is the best combo of all out will to win, takes the prize!

Me too!
The Mach 1 boys are rite!!!!!! Full coverage does NOT mean your car is coverd in a "race, or Rally"... Any supported claim on your vehicle will need a police report, and probable course of coverage will need supported TRUTH, OR you could be looking at insurance fraud.... Check with your agent before you agree to (PUT IT ON THE LINE)... My agent offered an offroad policy with a heafty deduct but would cover repair up to 30,000..... Make sure you have your arse covered becouse Bullrun takes no responsibility for your mistakes... As team EVO learned......

I got a spare monte in my driveway, and it ain't the challenges I'm worried about, it's the driving legs - if my car gets totalled on a challenge, least I know we did our best, but last thing I need's some peckerhead what's late for work totalling my car while he's commuting.

Also DON'T THINK your insurance company will cover you for the driving legs either. They may see the entire show as something they Won't cover. Plan ahead on this one, and be ready to make lots of calls to insurance companies. Or try and find the # to Lloyds.

When I took my car to my insurance company for my annual rate adjustment, i still had all the rally equipment in it. they didn't mind or say anything, they actually offered to cover all the electronics. so i didnt complain. Can't wait to hear who made the cut for season 3!
