faster than a TransAm.... i had a 88T/A the BMW has a higher top out but the T/A got to 100 faster...
on the 328Ci... its a true German car...no cats, no smog stuff, and no speed limiter... i have had it at around 165+ and it still had plenty of going power. the Z4 is the american version and is speed limited to 155, but we changed the limiter so it is now drag limited to 168...tested on I69 in MS.

Yes, I have a computer in the car with a web camera that is electrical taped to the Beltronics RX65 radar detector lol. I store the videos to the computer then transfer them at home.
And yes OMG what a fun ride that was. My goal was just to keep him in sight lol. I was happy with the Z that day. That's for sure.
Until I get my Hypertech chip, my little baby's governed at 218 kmph, but you wouldn't BELIEVE how smooth the ride gets!! She still eats corners pretty good at that speed, too!
105 mph, then had to stop fast for a gas station. I don't think the fuel milage is very good over 90. What am I saying, it's not even in the "teens" at 55.
w/ the new controller modification I have no rev limiter now, but I've only had the speedo buried, when I let off it took about 12 seconds to come back down to 120.
You just gotta suck it up and do it Jack! If you don't just do it... you won't do it. And don't try to rationalize it by saying you don't need to go that fast. You know better than that. You don't have to.... but you know you want to.
Unless you put a tuner on your car Rob, you top speed should only be 145. They're limited to that. I had a Chrysler 300C to that, and that was all it had. Not because it didn't have more power, because I was hitting a speed limiter. I could watch the needle hit it quite clearly.
Unless of course they don't limit the Charger Daytonas for some reason...
Ya know, this thread got me thinking the other day... What exactly is my top speed?
I mean, I know they say my car is limited to 155, but I've had the needle burried past 160 before.
So I decided to find out. ;) (sorry it's kinda bumpy the car was in Advanced mode which makes the suspension stiff like no other)
Now before anybody flips out over this, it was done late at night on a highway with nearly 10 miles of straightaway, 6 lanes across, and little to no traffic. We checked the transstar cameras and did a dry run to make sure there were no accidents, stalled vehicals, moose, etc.
120, theres no good roads in Maine. plus I dont have to go fast if I dont have to slow down at the end of the straight =)
No good roads in Maine? We had a group of 11 cars bombing up 95N to Presque Isle. We were holding at 130 for a good hour.
You have some of the best driving roads in the country bro.
I dont trust the highway for speed runs. I dont have a fuzz detector, and the highway is crawling with staties now, but as far as the interstate goes, it is pretty nice
I've only had the Scion up to 130. Don't think I'll get much more out of it stock. Ohio turnpike is def. the place to try. Good Roads, little to no cops, so flat, and nice straight stretches.
The bike (R6) has seen 150+ very often. It's so easy to get up to speed with the quick acceleration. Very few cars in this area can even keep up.

This was the fastest I've ever gone in a car. The 160 speedo was burried at one point so I don't know what the actual speed was.

Well for numbers.
In the stang 149 before I came to my sences while racing a camaro (I won) had a a whole gear left and wasnt close to toping it out in 4th.
On a bike 170, and once again I threw all rationality out the window that day.....running from the cops on city streets....Young and dumb....
and 210 in a car that has been in a few mags and is the last winner of the pump gas drags (FORD/F3 powa)

I know the BULLITT dosen't have a limitor...
It peaked at 158 when I had to let off. Started to come up on traffic a little more quickly that anticipated. lol
There's supposed to be a limiter @ 155, but it never kicked on.
I only planned on hitting 155, so I didn't expect the extra 3mph, but I'll take it!! haha
