Yup.
It was a blast of a road trip. Truck averaged just over 19mpg. We went from almost the Canadian boarder all the way down to the Redwoods in California.
Had 0 issues with the truck.. Turned the fuel up only a couple of times. Once was on highway 101 when some needledick in a 80's vette thought he was Mr. Billy Badass... The look on his face as we went around him was worth every second of it. I really, really wish I had a camera.
Hit Portland at straight up 5:00. !@#$ that nonsense. There isn't enough money in the world for me to live in a big city like that... Although, I actually got to use granny first gear as we crept along at 3mph. Sweet sauce.
In case anyone was wondering (and I just know you where!) this is what my truck looks like from the top of the Space Needle in Seattle.

We actually planned our rest stops around the locations of locally breweries. Needless to say, it was a good trip:

And finally.. You ever pass a sign that makes you laugh so effin hard you have to go back and get a picture? This is the gem I saw in California.. Apparently California Elk will mess you up.. As someone born and raised in Idaho, this type of stuff makes me laugh until my sides hurt.

So, that's what I've been up to. What was everyone else doing while the site was down?

Cool stuff. The last time we were at the space needle. The was a guy on a harness over the edge washing the windows. As he climbed back up the elderly women standing next to us informed the window washer that he should really be wearing a helmet. LOL. Cause that's gonna help if you plummit 100ft straight down. lol

Ouch. I'm not sure I could sit down for a few days after that schedule..
We where on a "vacation," so thankfully it wasn't just get up and drive, get up and drive every day. We stayed several days at different places along the way. Highway 101 from Washington to California is pretty damn cool!!
The longest straight through drive I've done (with only me driving) was Moab, Ut to Moscow, Id. It is right around 900 miles. I was towing my Bronco, so I couldn't make as good of time as I liked... I hurt pretty good the next day. Would totally do it again though!!

It would be interesting to do that kind of mileage (like I talked about) (or even what you did) on a vacation, I think? but not so sure. I would have to strech it out over about a month to do the 6500+ miles again.

I can do my best. ;)
I'm sure it wasn't the frenchies, as it was a white vette.. Like I said, probalby 80s (I'm no vette expert, but it was the body style that is really narrow in the nose and square in the back. Might have been very eary 90s. I think they only put 350s in them, so nothing special).
Anyway, we where in a long line of cars (pretty typical on 101). I was 3rd in line. In front of me was a mini van, and in front of them was a truck pulling a camper.
Mr. Cool in the vette was way in the back of the pack, making some pretty stupid passes. Some where boarderline dangerious.. Passed at least 1 or 2 on double yellow blind corners and nearly got taken out. He finally gets behind me (I was waiting for a good point to pass).
Well, he's doing that "I'm going to drive with 2 tires across the center lines so you know I want to pass even though there isn't !@#$ you can do about it" thing, weaving back and forth behind him. I'm thinking "yeah, me too buddy.. But there is a spot coming up."
Finally, we get to one of those passing lanes.. I stay tucked behind the minivan to let Billy Badass go around. We start up the passing lane, and he goes around me.. engine sounds like it's spinning 12k.
I pull out behind him. I'm pissed at this point.. Probably not the best thing, but it is what it is. I look right at him in his rear view mirror and think "I'm not driving behind this jackass for the next 100 miles."
We get around the truck pulling the camper, and he stays in the left lane.. So I pull over in the right and start to go around him. Pisses Mr. Billy Badass off aparently. He either is in an auto and it downshifts, or he downshifts.. Either way, as I'm passing him on the right I hear the engine jump back up in Revs and the front end lift like he's on it hard. Anger got the better of me. Hit the fuel button and held it wide open.
Now, I'm not saying that I was speeding or anything... But I ran out of gear in 6th. He was a good 3-4 lengths behind me when the passing lane ended. I dusted his ass, and he was a little red in the face about it. He actually stayed pretty close to me for a little while after that (the corners eat my truck alive obviously), but he eventually fell further and further back.. We got to one of those little towns on the coast and he ended up passing me as I was stopped at a light in the other lane. Wouldn't even make eye contact!!
Like I say.. I really wish I had a video camera for that one.

Sounds like a real sausage smuggler. Your right, it was a C4, mid 80s to mid 90s. I still have one, it's not the fastest thing on the planet. A 350 in it but they didn't produce a whole hell of alot of HP. And when I take mine up around 90 + it starts to rattle around a little. That's probably what happened to him and of course he probably was a douche and didn't know how to drive. The redline on those is 5ooo to 55oo, not like the new C6s. LOL! Great story!
If you like extreme road triips come join the NER next year. We did 1188 miles this past weekend. Started driving at 12:00 pm Friday and ended 7:00 pm Saturday.

That would be AWESOME.
But... I see a slight issue. According to google maps, your starting line is 2864 miles from my place.
Maybe someday though!!
