the story of the wagon

so ive always liked odd cars. i never was a chevelle or nova kinda guy.  more like amc javelins.  my cousin bought a malibu station wagon for a car audio competition car.  i really liked it  but i was into oldsmobiles so i wasnt overly enthused. well low and behold he found a cutlas cruiser for $500.  i jumped on that in a heartbeat. it came with a buick v6 with a blown head gasket. so i drove it to my cousins house (his name is aj) blown head gasket and all, smoking all the way. the motor locked up as i tried to back it into the garage.  our friend bruce had an elcamino sitting in his field and he said that if we get it out of there we can have it. so we went and got it. aj wanted the front clip off of it for his 80 malibu wagon and i wanted the 350 and the trans. so  we did the engine/trans swap with minor issues.  ( the frame of a 78 el camino is ecactly 1/2 inch wider than that of an 83 cutlas) that made for some head scratching.  so i put 2 1/2 inch exhaust on it, a set of chrome rally rims and did a tune up and away i went.. im staring the restoration this summer and will have it fully road worthy again by the fall
