Hello Fellow Bullrunners and Bullrun Fans,
My name is Matt Ruybal, driver and founder of the New Mex Express rally team. My co-driver is John Paul Gonzales. We both are from Santa Fe, New Mexico and have participated in the Dustball 400, 500, 1000, and 1500 Mile Rallies here in the Southwest. I will be participating in the 2009 Bullrun Rally on behalf of Manhattan Motorsports driving one of their unique rides.
My team is currently in the audition process for Bullrun TV Season 3, Please check out our audition video here: http://www.vimeo.com/4640471 we appreciate your support.
Our rally vehicle is a 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT, with "Rally Equipment", Vintage CB Radio with PA, Scanner, V1 Radar Detection System, GPS Navigation, Bluetooth Communication, and dual whip antennas off the back. We have made mild performance upgrades: mac performance h pipe exhaust, c&l cold air intake, and k&n filter. This is a proven rally winning combination and a truly unique car. My team won the 2008 Dustball 1000 Rally and the coveted Willie Williams Spirit of the Dustball award. We are also in the entry process for the 2010 Gumball 3000 Rally. We are always looking for sponsors and support.

Aaron, Sorry I missed you as well. I was probably running around looking for breakfast as the hotel resturaunt was packed with hungover bullrunners. finally found a deli. We also had to find our decal set to install on the grid. We will be back next year in some shape or fashion.

Nope, though a 71 trans am would be a great investment in this economy! lol. We sent in our updated info and video to the casting folks. Now is part two of the waiting game, we survived the Dustball 1500 with no tickets (a rare feat) and ran runner up for the whole thing, so we are confident we will do well on the show.

In all it has been a great experience for our team through the casting process, we go the initial call from casting and that was worth all the hard work. We are new to the TV show game, and felt our chances were pretty good for our first shot. We have had a great year, and participating in Day 1 of the 2009 Bullrun Rally was awesome and gave us some real insight into what it takes to win the thing. We will regroup, rework, and be back for S4, if there is one, and hope to make the show and Bullrun Rally next year. Thanks to everyone for their positive comments, thoughts and support throughout this process. We are retiring our mustang cobra and will be back with our AMG E55 for the next go round. So be on the lookout for the new and improved, Team New Mex Express. Good luck to everone that made it and we look forward to the process again next year!
