The Road Wave
Thu, 05/21/2009 - 5:15pm
I have seen Harleys do it, I have seen Corvettes do it, also seen crotch rockets do it. The road wave. Do other rides do it too? Do Mustangs or "Ricers" do the wave? And why will a Harley guy not wave to a crotch rocket and vise versa? And is it disrespectful if one Harley guy does not wave to another Harley dude? Why do they do it in the first place? I can't go around waving to every person in a Corvette, or is that what I am supposed to do? Somebody please tell me the ettiquette of this because I have been wondering for years.

BMW drivers wave
I personally love the road wave -- I think it's cool to see people acknowleging other drivers on the road if there's something about their car or ride that they like. I'm sure most of you have been somewhere out in the boondocks and EVERY single person waves -- that's also kinda cool, but it's obviously for a much different reason -- more like, "Yeah, we're both out here in BFE, good to see you..."
And then I'm always surprised how you can drive like one or two streets into outside of town and all the sudden no one waves -- even if it's someone you saw earlier out in BFE...
I wave at other Si's, but I don't see many other Si drivers waving back...haters ;)

Jeep Wrangler drivers always wave at each other. It is a must
I only wave at RX-8 drivers I know

It used to be that way with Saturns back in the early 90's, they were so rare and I had the only one in my hometown. Nowdays I give the thumbs up to cool cars I see, but that's not often.
