Oh I knew that would get a rise out of you... I just haven't found a car that a v6 would be great in. The V6 is a great power plant and car deliver a huge amount of bang for the buck. I was thinking of putting one in a viper? It would improve the handleing in that over sized nose they have?

Here is what my HP/Torque are. I have never dyno-ed Darthvader so I can say its true. But I sure does put a smile on my face when I stomp my foot.

Hey Aaron, what kind of dyno was that on? And why didn't the operator take the RPM's higher?

I was gonna' ask that, but then I thought it was a truck engine ..  .

what ever it is, you take the Rpms higher, his power numbers are gonna go up too..

It the sat's that came with the Supercharger when purchased... I have never dyno'ed the thing. Its the 5.4ltr F150 ROUSH SUPERCHARGER KIT Nice kit but needed to reprogram the ECU and added bigger injectors.

No, it looks a lot like a boosted 4.2L v6 running an OEM cam.

Cam can't make power over 5400 RPM. & standard powertrain components cant take the RPMS without floating.

Which is why I figured it was the truck.

BULLRUN SEASON II : HEAD TO HEAD (Micro Bus vs Camero)

Six weeks until the beans start falling out of the mouths of those that were lucky enough to be picked for this years Race on Speed Channel. Until then I am going to tell you what "I" think of the match-ups.

I will team up two teams every week and give you some skinny on the car and what I believe is going to happen if they were subjected to a challenge of my choosing. Of course these special challenges will never happen but would be fun to podder the out come.....

This Week I am going to team up:

'69 Camaro -VS- '67 Vw Micro Bus

Bill's bus is running silent. It's a sleeper and in fact I would even bet you that he is sand bagging a little. If you pulled along side this peace loving people mover your going to hear something other than a couple of butterflys farting. His type 4 motor is at the heart of his beast and a Porsche has given its brakes to this recreation vehicle. However the turning and center of gravity are still rather high being a bus and all. Bill did drop the bus to improve on that issue. GRADE B+

At first glance the TPI Camero numbers are very stout and imposing to a vw bus of any year. However we all know that numbers don't aways give you a win in fact they can sometime even work against you. But this car has a well thought out balance of power and weight. He has set it up with a monster 427 Small block, but gave it an aluminum block to decrease the nose weight.  This will give it a better handling than the stock camero.  GRADE A+ 

This weeks challenge? 

Get to the end of a parking lot as fast as possible! However the parking lot is filled with Green Peace Protesters.

How do you think this is going to end? and who is going to win?

Ok this is the way I see it ending up...

The Bill's bus wins... heres why.

TPI slams the gas quickly taking out the first 25 feet of Green Peace protesters. He then starts to lose his traction from the oily dread locks and pechulie oil building up quickly on his tires. The car is slowed to a stop by the bodies that have built up in front of the Camaro. The protesters become angry at his wasting of fosil fuel's when he had room for three more people in the back seat of the car. The prostesters tear open the car doors pulling him and his co-driver out of the car. Then beat them to death with their carbon foot print signs that read "Car pools saves seals".

Bill seeing this and has his co-driver open the barn door and invites the unrulely group to ride to the other side of the parking lot. They happily jump in and Bill gets a contact high from the bloody group of Green peace thugs. Completing the Challenge!

I'm trying to prop up his hood. I killed him in the challenge so to make it up I gave him a big block.

I do have to say that rig is sweet. If I'm right that is a complete re-pop? It's all modern isn't?

I would like to see you two gear heads go down a 1/4 mile track.

BULLRUN II on SPEED: A KICK ASS LINE UP!

     Well well... Time is getting short and Andy and the post production staff have got to be working over-time. To get us the best possible show they can as the air date quickly approaches. (FEBRUARY '09)

      If you haven't heard of the Bullrun. Then you most likely watch PBS and shouldn't drive ever because cars are not just for transportation.They are an escape and Bullrun serves it up right. So let me explain quickly. The Bullrun for those that are new to my blog is a combination of skill and long haul driving challenges. Speed TV has picked up the show for a fresh start and a new look from the reports I have heard.

     In this season they up'ed the dice. Still offering $200,000 in cash and prizes just like in season one. But they have had a little more time to come up with some wild challenges for this years teams. I don't know just exactly what they are but they are suppose to be able to drop my jaw.. (Which is going to be a little tough as I am tough guy to please). Still if any Season can, this one will. - I would bet on it.

     Here are the details as I know them now and I think casting did a fantastic job on this group of people and cars. A few of these teams are very well know to me and have been working a long time (2years) to get a chance at this race. Let me start by listing them and then on to the rest of the group as I know it right now. I might get a few details wrong. So don't throw any stones at me, please. If you got anything that corrects my mistakes give it up and I will adjust my blog! 

THE LINE UP - SEASON II BULLRUN (SPEED)

1. Team Dart - Paul and Tony are a father and son team that has been on the bullrun forums for as long as me and know that it takes a good car and lots of skill to make it to the final challenge. These two guy are to be watched. They have thought out ever aspect of a Bullrun event. Even changed up a few thing to throw off anyone that might have listen to them over the years.

2. Team Solstice - Theresa and Tony these two are a wife and husband team out of Las Vegas NV. They are big into cars they own a sign shop in town and are two of the nicest car fans you can know. Theresa is smart as a tack and can out drive most other teams in her sleep. Tony is always laughing and ready for a challenge. Great family

3. Team Avalanche - Bear (Barry) and Matt Friends I know Bear as Tomcat_176 he is another superfan that has been in the weeds talking about his chance of becoming a Team in the next bullrun. Well he did it. This guy even took his finals early to be ready for the casting call. He had a dream of driving in the season and he made that cut. If he is in your tail mirror you aren't going to shake him off. This team is determination born of god.  

4.  Team VW Bus -  Bill and George these guys are brothers that know their Volkwagon !@#$ and can't wait to inform you of the finer details of the ride and how to repair one if needed.(with a Leatherman no less) Their ride is a demon wrapped in a cute bus package. This bus impressed several of the other teams as it delivered at every turn. Its running a Porsche type 4 motor and is all Billrun. Smile your going to get played by this team.   

5. Team Lexus- Brooke and Amanda this is the girl team. What else do you want to know.. I think that these girls did a whole lot better than the last team of ladies. I can't prove anything so I won't tell you where I think they finished. But they aren't going to let you down. To cute to do that!

6. Team 'Vette - Elvis and Steve don't know these guy. Elvis is a Production designer and Steve isn't. I don't really know anything about them or the 2001 Corvette with lambo doors. Can't wait to see the behind the scene's video. This team knows the camera is rolling and should deliver a performance trip of a lifetime.

7. Team Camaro - Brook and Wade Friends that build, drive, and race cars. This car isn't a 1969 lead sled that only does straight lines its a full on modern music machine! I wouldn't let the sound of this team get under your skin or they just might rub your nose in it. Boom Boom  

8. Team Pantera - Jason and ?  this guy(s) almost made the last cut on Spike but were cut at the last moment. Bet that stung however they must have left a taste in Andy and Davids mouth because here they are! Showing off that Pantera for Speed and us. These cars are built for every possible race you can imagine. So having one in this years run is going to be fun.  Very much ready to drive the piss out of his car! 

These last few teams I just don't know anything about... Nothing so I will update this part once I know a little more about them. I guess its like Christmas not fully knowing what gifts lay under that tree.

      These teams are all worthy of taking the checkered flag this February. Only one is going to take the winner circle and I don't wish for any teams to be the first to go but someone will and someone will take it all. That is racing.

      As we ready our TV's for the Premier of the Bullrun on the SPEED Channel. Try to get to know these Great Teams before the start and you will enjoy their trip even more.  And who knows you might even be inspired to reach for a chance at taking home the checkered flag yourself. I know I am looking forward to my chance to win.

Nice write up Aaron!  I like how you take the time to figure everyone out.  I can't wait for the show to air so people can get a glimpse at how we were all portrayed and then hear what we have to say after each episode -- our true thoughts at the time!  This season is going to be GREAT!

I can't wait to hear the tales from your side of the game. It's going to be fun to see how all of these teams come together on screen. Only problem is you guys all liked each other for the most part. Still I bet there was lots of fireworks.

All of you guys had a great time and that should come across in the final cut. I wonder if they can cut the teeth chattering out. I hear that the desert chill was one of the hardest thing about some of the night shoots.  Don't answer don't want anyone to get into trouble. But I want to hear about the lack of heaters. I'm sure it kept everyone tight.

Can you believe it was less than a month of your life and memories that will stay with you forever.

Coyote has got a point you really shouldn't limit your appeal. 

I just kick myself a thousand times! For being so stupid!

Well if I take the NOS off the Bird and put it on the HHR. I can get 30 mpg and only use the NOS on challenges.

I wouldn't do that i would get a new kit that is designed for the HHR. Your HHR is a big investment and the fogger might not be right for the girl.

Check into some other kits. NOS is tricky I blew up two motors. HELD IT TO LONG!

The first kit is wet... (the only way to go safe)

Or go to GMPP & upgrade the Turbo.

Yup, the LNF can be upgraded and tuned past 320HP easily. Not a bad call...

We contemplated throwing a little giggle gas on the car for the show, but it's hard to make a decision on what amount you're going to run, and where you're gonna keep some "good fuel" so you don't go ka-boom.... so many different altitudes you never know what octane you're going to need.

That is the danger of GAS. The power is so easy yet a temptation that is best passed on. I like the turbo with adjustable boost. That is what I would do... In fact I did.

Stickman its going to cost more on the front side but will more than pay for itself the first time you don't blow the motor sky-high!
