Lets say I was standing some where along the road with my thumb out. Would any of the Bullrun participants just maybe give me a ride to Texas?? I am not a crazy serial killer I swear!!

Actually... If you show up at the starting location and ask around you will most likely get a ride.
Bullrunners are always out to have fun and help out others. Just the fact that you show up in NY ready to go shows that you are out for an adventure. And what is bullrun??? The ULTIMATE adventure.
Now how fun your trip is all depends on how much $ you have with you.
If you have a pocket full of cash you can talk to Andy and Dave at the start and get in on the event, Get hotels and food and have the time of your life.
If you are broke 1 of 2 things will happen.
1) you will have to make due at the checkpoints while your ride goes in and parties. You will have to be at the car before they are in the morning so you don't miss your ride.
or 2)
you will find someone that is crazy cool and they will foot the bill for you (highly unlikely, but not completely out of the question.)
At the absolute least make sure oyu have a few hundred dollars to help out with gas. The fun you will have on the road will more than pay for it.
If we were going this year and If I had room in the Z , I'd be happy to give you a ride. We would be going that way anyway lol.

Thats good advice for everyone wanting to know how it all works. I do hope anyone who is a true enthusiast can make their way into the event and have the time of their life.
Guess I could have saved a bunch of money, and taken the chance of catching a ride with someone too. But im to independant and its too late now.
But I will offer a ride to anyone wanting to share in expenses. I've got a co-driver now but still have room for another if someone is interested.

So you are actually in the Bullrun this year? That is cool as hell! My main problem with doing anything fun this year is new company won the contract and we don't know what the hell is going to happen with vacation and all. I get 3 weeks a year but the new co. takes over in June and usually when I have delt with the conversions all hell breaks loose for about a month straight, no days off, 16 hr days......fat check uncle sam loves it! and I Don't really know for sure if I will have a job yet or not , had 3 phone interviews all of them were cancelled, us the lowly techs are left in the dark.
If I make it to NY this year what would be a good amount to bring with me, if I catch a ride with you? and since I am married would I probably be a single man after hanging with you? HA .. HA.. Seriously I would be interested in your offer if can get the time away it would be a experience I would never forget. Thanks

Yes, I am in the rally this year and very excited about it all. But I'm also new at this, So.......First off I would suggest you contact Andy, Dave, or my contact George@bullrun.com, and ask them what they are willing to do for you $$ wise to get in on the fun and be a passenger.
You wont want to miss the parties, you will need somehwere to stay, eat, etc. and they will need to make arrangements for you. So, if you find out what they need to make those things happen, then I might be able to give you some idea as to how much cash you will need for the ride along. (gas, misc. expenses, and so on) I cannot promise you anything at this point, but if you check out the above. Maybe we can work something out.
Me and my co-driver are both married also, we take road trips all the time to go drag racing all over the place without the wives.
You just better make sure you have a very trusting relationship. Or at least believe you do!!!

Thanks. I plan on taking video and pics along the way and posting them here. Yea, no doubt things can get carried away, but I've been there before with my buds on road trips, racing trips, etc. We do know our limits and have not been locked up yet. I am usually the one to put a stop to things before they get to out of hand.
My father was a chief of police and my co-drivers father is a retired state policeman. So weve lived our lives up to this point knowing where the limits are.
But who knows, theres always new !@#$ to get into.

Not likely bud, but if a Bullrunner did pick you up, you would have to pay Bullrun, LLC to join in in the fun etc. Its not a free ride for anyone.
If there is a free ride for the rally out there, I want to know too. But I doubt it.
Participants have to pay a substansial fee (20K) to be in the rally, plus fuel, plus car, plus all the misc. $ that go along with the drive.
Best of luck on that hiking thing......
GAS,GRASS OR ASS........
