BULLRUN II (SPEED): THE FANS BASE IS GROWING FAST! 150th Weekly Blog

I am soooooo happy that Andy and David's hard work has finally found a place where fans can become aware of it. The Speed channel has supported this show more than Spike ever did and it seems to be paying off for them. My wife who isn't a "car" girl loves the new format. She has even picked her team. That gives me hope that other viewers who would not ever watch a show like this might be tuning in this time. Why, do I believe this is the case? I based that observation on a couple of things that I have noticed.
.
The Bullrun web site can't keep up with the BULLRUN swag sales on the official site. Seems the sales are off the hook. Bad for the Bullrun site, good thing for the teams that have stepped up to offer support swag on their own. (Andy if you are reading: Please contact me once the new tees arrive, Please! I need a new Bullrun shirt.) If they are selling tee shirts faster than they can print them, it is a good sign of support. Right? I would think but I don't have all the facts. So I just have to speculate that the swag sales are a gauge of the viewers support. If they are selling them that fast, maybe some new styles might be on the way... (Hint, hint)

The second issue? The Bullrun site itself has been bumping the max bandwidth allotted by the host server supporting it. If you don't know what I am talking about then think of it like this. The site is like a milk shake of thick chocolate. Now think of the bandwidth the server allows access to the site to be the size of a coffee straw. Getting the picture? The amount of shake that can travel through that straw is small and a larger straw is needed to get the shake to those that want to drink it. When you can't get to the shake, you get the error screen.
I see that is as a good thing. As the show has progressed this second season it has taxed the straw few times this last week. You might have seen it as a white screen if you were on the site at the time. It is temporary problem and the back button or refresh button will solve the issue. So not a big deal. But what it is telling me is that the traffic is growing as we go. People are sticking around when the show isn't on causing the site to swell. PERFECT! That is what the Bullrun staff and Speed are looking for. The more people hang around the more people see the ad's and ad's pay the bills.
I just hope that we continue to grow and that maybe I and a few others might get a shot at the winners circle.

I would like to change the subject for the last part of this blog if that would be o.k... My blog so I will.
This is my 150th Weekly BLOG and on Sunday I went over 50,000 reads. I started doing this blog back in 2007 and have never looked back. Over those years I have seen the high tide and the water almost dry up. But I set a goal of being in the BULLRUN show and as long as there was a chance I wasn't giving up. If you haven't noticed once I get an idea in my head and if there might be an chance of making it, I would continue to strive for that goal.
Over those years you have also seen my cars become incredible works of art. (oh, Ya I have never been humble.) "TheWart" for those that have been with me from the beginning was or is now MISTER HAPPY! I started a car that was built for this event. During the casting of season 1 it seemed the Andy and casting department wanted a truck and Darth Vader did get a couple of looks before getting a pass. It is a very nice truck that went on to win third place in Trucking National a few years back. So it did o.k. (I still think I would have won that season hands down. Sorry Mike)

I like to think in my mind that I did do my part in keeping the old site alive and now that season 2 is in full swing. The wonderful teams that were picked to run in it the time have picked up that banner and started to tell others about the Wild ride that is Bullrun. They are doing such a wonderful job at keeping fans tuning in. That I just might have to do something else? So I don't know the future of my blog going forward.
I started this blog to get people to see what I was about all those years ago and hopefully get a look from casting. I did, so the blog has done what it was meant to do. I really could not have done it without so many of you taking the time to read a fans weekly rant. I know I have pissed some people off and even got a giggle or two from others but you reading my words and commenting back turned it into a pleasure for me THANK YOU! All 50,000 of you!
Who knows what the next few years are to bring. One thing is clear... I will be here and still trying to be one of the few that run in the Worlds Greatest Car Rally.
Aaron & MISTER HAPPY!
