Team Evo was reckless and dangerous on the road....period..I think the challenge proved that.  It wasn't that they were speeding or not playing by the "Rules"..the episode tonight, they were 10-15 minutes behing the pack, and in 30 minutes they caught the pack..no math wiz, but they had to be running well over a 100 mph..now on a closed track..run your ass off, but if my family is comming home from dinner and Team Dumbass causes a wreck...I got a big problem with that.  When Elvis and I got pulled over, the officer told me they had a motorist call in a complaint that a grey 4 door car was passing 6-8 cars on DOUBLE YELLOW lines at well over 100 mph..and were willing to come in and sign a sworn statement....not Team VW or Lexus complaining about rules..Plain stupid and dangerous.  They claimed they were passing cars when they would drop 1 or 2 miles below the limit..then drive away..I mean come on?? Why not just say..yea we speed..deal with it!! Man Up!!  It was funny after the challenge, I didnt hear Chris complain about the course..he said he got off-course and got in trouble...and he had the "time of his life"..Evo says the show is editing them to look bad...how do they edit every single team into hating them..every one...do you really think that we were all scared of Evo!!! seriously..they couldn't drive,(see episode 4), navigate,(see episodes 1-4), and couldn't even get along,(see blinfold challenge).  They were a threat, and threat to every single person on the road...not to win!  Hide behind your screen names and talk trash, heres my info

Thanks Speeder...and yes TCI..pull your e-brake at all times..specially when running 5 miles an hour on the dirt to put on an awesome slide....I remember when I used to do that on my bike....peddle up then kick the back end out and lock it up...it would leave a killer black scratch!!

I agree with you as in one of the previews,TeamEvo passes at least two cars and barely gets back into the lane before becoming some-ones hood ornament. That type of driving on the open road is way out of line. The majority of us have done stupid things some more than others but to do it with cameras and how many people watching, now thats just stupid

Yea...nobody has mentioned that clip yet!!!  Every single person on the show speed at one time or another...everyone..but it was how they went about it and the situations they put themselves and everyone else in that caused a problem..If Elvis or I would of got arrested..we were off the show..now how is that playing by the rules..playing the game?? Not to mention, when you endanger other proples lives who are not even involved in the show, that's not a game..it's not funny, it's not cute, and everyone got tired of it....For the record, of the 12 teams, Evo was on of the last teams to worry anybody....and for all the Evo people...listen closely..IT'S NOT BECAUSE ITS A TUNER...ITS BECAUSE THE WERE IDIOTS...the car was perfect vehicle to use in the show, it combines qualities that are very usful in this format, just like the Solstice.

Brook,

You hit the nail right on the head.  I do not know these guys personally, but from I witnessed on the show, I know their type all too well.

Guys like these have brought so much heat in Ontario (through street racing, parking lot burnouts, weaving in traffic, etc), we are stuck with absurd street racing laws (which is a whole different rant).  It's tough driving any sort of sports car around Toronto without fear of attracting unwanted police attention.

It's getting bad everywhere, it's a sign of the paranoid, paternalistic times we live in.

There's no reason to not do it, you invoke "public safety" then ticket and harass whomever you want, take the money and go on to do it all again.

And, because there'll always be some jackass somewhere who goes and kills some 4yr old kid or 88yr old granny, there'll always be more fuel for the media-fed fire (remember: "If it bleeds, it leads").  So, no matter how good/safe/careful you are, rest assured some jackass is already out there ruining it for everyone else.

In other words, enjoy it now, since this is as good as it'll ever be.

And, joy of joys, we can really only expect it to get worse

The best part to me about Chris and his big mouth wasnt even caught on camera.

We're all sitting around talking after everything had happend and Chris was saying his goodbyes to everyone and stated... "Well guys, it took a wrecked car to take us out of the competition but we had fun and when I get my own TV show you guys are all invited to come on the show."  As no one took the offer (duh!) Amanda, my teammate, blurts out "It didnt take a wrecked car,... you lost the Challenge!" SO FUNNY!!! Chris had nothing to say back because he was obviously embarrassed he just got punked by a 21 yr old girl, but he leans over to Amanda and says "They messed with the times, we actually won." WOW could he be any more delusional!

Douche.

HAHAH..   Seriously the guy didn't sound one bit concerned he just destroyed a 30,000 car..  hah  Classic.  Its almost like that guy was stoned or something, like he had no idea wtf he just did.

lol, its the big balls.  I mean it was entertaining and all, i dont wish that kind of carnage to anyones vehicle, i know how i would feel if i wrecked my car, BUT its afterwards threating law suit and whatnot that takes it too far. But poor poor team dart :( it was like team bmw all over again but way worse lol.

yeah.. you know, I don't know.. the ins and outs what they actually went through prior to that point..  contracts, etc.  They walked through the challenge that much we do know.  but for them to floor it.. and go straight, would have probably been ok.. and those blocks were noticable.. from 100's  of yards away. And maybe when they got airborne... and they had lost all control... one because they were eating airbags... and 2, can't steer a car in the air.. so, they couldn't avoid the block.

if they hadn't gotten airborne, they would have been fine... and been out regardless.  to lose a challenge, and destroy your car doing it.. is just plain sickening.

Even IF they didn't lose the challenge, their car was toast... and they would have been done either way.

Avalanche played this challenge perfect.... complete with the drift at the end of the course...   I think if EVO wouldn't have been the 1st to go.. again they would still be with the rest of the cast.... and the dart would have went home.  Hmmm

But knowing that... they really have no grounds for a lawsuit...  and if they did on what basis.. I am sure Andy, and his legal team are smarter than the average person, trying to get on this show, and they need to be to protect everyone involved..   Hmm..

as much as I didn't like those guys... and as wreckelss as they were.. and cocky, and douchbaggieness....  I do feel bad for them..  and I can understand the anger.. by my anger wouldn't be towards bullrun.. I really think I'd be pissed at the guy driving the car..  and before we set one ass cheek in the goat.. you will be damn sure, that what ever happens to the car is 50/50 with me and my co driver...  win or lose.

I agree with Scott i didnt like team evo at all and thats saying it nicely but i did feel bad about crashing thier car like that and yes i think they lost it with the gloves and helmets as they was pretty fast looking in the challange and only lost only by 2 seconds. Yes if my friend just air borned my lumina then piledrived a concret block and caused soo much damage to the car but i wouldnt be pissed at bullrun id be pissed at the friend then at myself for not driving my own car in the first place.

If they stayed on the road, they would have been fine. They saw the gates as teh end of the challenge.

The casement was probably an old guard shack.

No lawyer would take this case. What amount are they going to sue for? Whats the EVO worth $15,000 to 18,000 at the most. BFD no lawyer going to get out of their chair for 35% of that amount anyway. The show could toss them a few bucks and say sign this release and hit the road.

10yrs ago the same would be said about sueing over hot coffee. At the end of the day, the course was not very well marked in that spot and it does leave it open a bit.

As much flak as it will cause, i do sort of agree with the EVO guys.  As much as the other teams said that "there is no way you could miss that", well apparently there is a way to miss that.

Douchebags or not, they should have marked out the dangers like that. Would we carry this same opinion if team dart had slid off the course and mangled the dart?

If you watch the episode again, when they interviewed Chris afterwards...he admits that he didn't expect to get serious damage in a contoled enviornment like a challenge, but he ADMITS he went off course, and that is the reason the car was damaged!  Then he says he had the time of his life, and this was several hours after the accident, he had time to think about what happened, not one word about the layout of the course, unmarked hazards!! NOTHING...and we were all sitting there, it was not editied out.

The hazard was a light pole base I believe..obviously the pole was not on it,....or maybe it wasn't that obvious!! srry..couldn't help it.

I don't want to make the EVO out to be bad guys, I didn't really even get to know them well enough to make that determination.  I think they made a decision on how they were going to "Play the Game", and I chose not to hang around them because I didn't respect that decision.  Hell, several of the teams did things to piss me off, as I am sure I did as well to the other teams.  Bear pissed me off a couple of times, but we hung out in Atlanta last weekend, and partied.

My brother and I own and run a wholesale dealer auto auction in KS, I even offered  David and Andy to help find a same/similar year car for EVO, so they could just take the mod parts off the damaged EVO and put them on the replacement, and other than the left front suspension, intercooler, and various other bolt-ons, it would of been pretty easy.

I think that if Jason would of handled things differently, Bullrun probably would of been willing to help them fix/replace their damaged car..because let's face it...BEST EPISODE EVER!!!! at least so far, and I am the first to admit...people loved to hate the EVO, and it made for great T.V...and Bullrun knows this, and like them or not, I know they appreciated what they brought to the show.  Couple years from now, Team Evo will be remembered way more than any other team, way more then Team Camaro, and trust me...I am way OK with that..I would rather be forgot for being a good guy, than remembered because I acted like a dick!

I don't respect how they handled themselves, not only in the competition, but after the accident..(again..doesn't make them bad people)..just my opinion..it was said somewhere that you can measure a man's character by the way he handles adversity...and I believe it and try to measure up everyday.

Team Evo....to set the record straight...shows over, we all did what we did,  I enjoy watching the show, and I hope everyone else does as well..so far mostly because of you and Marcus...next time I'm in L.A. I am going to look up Elvis and go hang out with him and Steve..I hope you and Chris will met up with us and we can spend some time together off the show.  If you turn out to be great guys in a bad situation, I will post it here in capital letters.  and by the way, I know you are monitoring the boards..I posted my number, call me when they time comes, and I'll still help you find a new ride!

next time I'm in L.A. I am going to look up Elvis and go hang out with him and Steve..

That might be more difficult than you think.....

Do you know how many Elvis impersonators there are in Vegas?

Im not gonna say that I liked Team Evo, but I felt so bad after seeing that car. I could tell just by glancing that Jason had a !@#$ ton of money into that. As far as the speeding went, I'll be the first to admit I drive over the speed limit, but not at 100 while on public roads.

Team Evo had the (in my opinion) perfect car for a Bullrun. All they needed was 5 more feet of road and alot more skill.

Ad Astra per Aspera, Man!

To the stars through difficulty.

"God blesses you with adversity" was the saying of the first folks shipped out here -The Shawnee.

It's all about how you react to it.

"There were no cops, no trees, no humans of any kind so we decided to wring out the little Ford. For 47 minutes straight the Fusion was pinned at 111 mph with the A/C on getting 25mpg. John, Gabe and I all sat there astonished. We made one fuel stop, saw no other Bullrunners and came in... are you ready... 6th place for the day! IN A RENTED FORD FUSION!! CAN I GET A BOOYA!!!

Ford people, if you are reading this contact me immediately because I don't think you know how good this little car is. Seriously, we should talk about perhaps producing some Ford Fusion "MR. ANGRY" editions. I LOVE THIS CAR!"

It's not, for a lot of reasons - some of which you saw on the episode. If you didn't recognize them, I'm not going to educate you
