I thought he looked and sounded familiar! Thanks for clarifying this for me Andy!
So SPEED is responsible for all the ads. Are you guys still responsible for making the ads? Also, Giant Film & TV, are they the ones working on the show? I know the zerodb facility is located in London (I'm a big Cops, Cars and Superstars fan too you know!) How in the world does Goldberg do the voiceovers? Is he in London too?
Thanks for answering our questions Andy!
Bloody hell mate, you ask some questions don't you..?
There is a seperate company that makes the promos for Speed from the footage we give them.
The show was made by Bullrun Productions...we are using our edit suites (owned by Zero DB / Giant Film - they are the same thing) in London - we are actually editing the show in the UK (as we speak).
The VO is done with Goldberg from an ISDN link from a sound studio in California that has a direct live link with the edit facility in London.

Thanks Andy! The whole voice over thing makes sense. I don't see Goldberg fitting in too well in Central London. I should probably stop asking questions then... I think you may explode if I ask you any more. LOL! Do I win the most annoying Bullrun fan award?

lol....now worries, we need about anothet 500k like you all watching SPEED!
andy, why did you pick goldberg as the host? (awesome pick by the way) and who were maybe some other candidates for the position?
I like him, he's easy to work with (as long as you keep the big guy fed) and he loves and knows cars (he owns about 22 cars). Other than that, I think he works well in the show - 90% of the show is about the drivers and the cars, as it should be, but GBerg compliments this well we think...plus he's great to have around in a bar fight (and us Brits love to drink).
The absolute main thing is your personalities - the more you can get this across the better, you can do this anyway way you want in your audition video. After that it's a question of us looking at the all the teams we like and fitting them into a final 12 that will work together for a show.
A tricked out Yugo would work for us, what better car to win Bullrun in?
Anything that burns diesel? :)
Thanks for the answer on my questions! I guess it makes sense to keep some things under wrap until the very end.. I guess the same could be said for spare tires. I don't think I would trust a single spare for the entire series, especially with some of the challenges we've seen. Fix-A-Flat would make a KILLING off you guys!

Hey andy what is the rules about when ppl are chilling in the hotel after filming, can they check up on the girlfriend/wife and or if they have kids at home?
Also thanks again for answering all of our questions.
Was there a big reason for changing the format in which teams are eliminated? In the initial season, a team's times could get swapped for losing the challenge, but for the most part, the slowest team went home. For this season, we just saw the first person getting THROWN into the challenge go home. I know it helps make it so no one is safe, but it's a little frustrating to roll in second and then roll off the show that night.
Otherwise, what's to stop someone from flattening your tires, etc.?
If someone was to even think about touching my car I'd be having some problems. You think the drama that team Evo brought was entertaining... You think the rivalry that Alex and Ed had on gumball was rough?? That's kids stuff. I know how to prank like there is no tomorrow. I grew up in a world of mechanics and pranksters. I have some that bring a tear to my eye just thinking about it.
Hey Andy, What are the chances of the show coming out east? You know the east coast would make for some interesting TV with the crazy traffic and 1 way streets.
During the 07 Bullrun I was talking to some of the drivers in the Boston garage and they were all stressed out because of the 1 way streets. Most of them could not find the hotel that was 100 ft.off the highway lol. Even though they could see the BIG Bullrun sign. They could not figure out how to get to it... That was priceless.
Boston, NY, Chicago, Philly, Atlanta, DC... All would bring some chaos.
Af far as staying out west... I was also thinking about a night with Heff.. Maybe a stop at the Playboy mansion on one of the legs?(I have a hook up there with the lady that does the booking of the mansion if you need a name and a number. I'm sure she would be happy to let the Bullrun stop there.)

Any chance of running Bullrun tv show in future seasons on the east coast/midwest? I know that the actual rally starts on the east coast, and I think it would be cool to run a simular route.....(plus there are some awesome race tracks you guys could hit up, like Road America, rt66 raceway, Road Atlanta, Daytona.....) just a thought

Yep, good question. Having the challenge in the middle of the show and then the 2nd leg and whole time bonus meant teams didn't have to take the challenges that seriously (i.e. Lambo). Also, sometimes the stakes weren't that hire i.e. teams were swapping times that weren't very far apart so there was little impact. The new format punishes slow teams and rewards the first team to stick it to anyone they want... it's a lot more brutal but that's what we were aiming for. The challenge means you have to go b*alls to the wall and the fact the 1st place team can put anyone in the challenge means the alliances have to VERY carefully managed between the teams and it drives more story as obviously some teams get picked on (or feel like they are).

Errr.... there's kind of a massive safety issue with that - I won't bore you with ALL the detail but that would be very difficult to get insured..all these challenges have to be insured and go through a risk analysis process. The other thing, it would probaby just make the fastest car in a straight line the winner. If you look at our challenges, we're always trying to 'equalize' the cars.

After last week, I think we might enter my S-10 Blazer it would be better for the challenges so far...like Avalanche.
