Bullrunner Proposes to Girlfriend With Ferrari
Thu, 10/10/2013 - 12:40pm

It's always cool to see the unique ways people come up with to propose to their significant other, but we think that Bullrunner, Erik Dumas, takes the cake! Erik took part in the 2008 Bullrun Rally from Calgary to Scottsdale, acting as the Navigator for Rick Blake in the Lexus IS-F. Erik and his girlfriend Mary have long joked that she gets her engagement ring when he gets his engagement Ferrari. When the time was right, he bought himself a red Ferrari 355 Challenge car from the United States and imported it into Canada without his girlfriend even knowing.  For weeks, Erik pondered how he would propose. He and Mary are both immersed in car culture, and both enjoy driving... more

Gas Monkey Garage Raffling Bullrun Rally Car!
Thu, 07/18/2013 - 11:56pm

Back in 2008, Bullrun veterans, Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kauffman, brought a car on Bullrun that brought a whole new meaning to the term 'sleeper.'   The puke green 1976 Chevy Caprice that we saw roll up to the Hotel Arts in Calgary was immedietly dismissed as a competitor, but then Richard revved the engine. Bullrunners and fans alike couldn't pick their jaws off the pavement when they learned what Rawlings and Kauffman pulled off. The Caprice is by no means a muscle car, but that didn't stop the Gas Monkeys from swapping out the motor with a 6.0L LQ9 motor out of a Cadillac Escalade. They also outfitted the car with 9-inch rear-end 4-wheel disc-braked and a... more

Like most kids, Ollie wants to be an Formula 1 driver. But recent events have brought him one step further to achieving his dream, even if he's still a long way off. Karting for Ollie has always been a passion. Starting on a family holiday in Cornwall after having just 15 minutes in a corporate kart, Ollie was just six-years-old. Then for Christmas in 2011, he received a course of 5 days in Manchester with Daytona to learn the basics of karting. The final day of his karting experience consisted of a practical and theoretical test. He was then asked to compete once a month course on an indoor track. It took only the two rounds before he one his first trophy! So Christmas in 2012... more

BULLRUN 2013: The final run! (Day 7 + Awards Night)
Fri, 06/07/2013 - 6:02pm

This is it – the final day of the rally. Today is make or break for the teams eyeballing the coveted Navigator Award. With the rally heading into New Orleans, a few teams have a home-town advantage. The Big Easy Banditz, NOLA Bangers and Rolling 7 have all shown us their superior navigation skills thus far, and could possibly bring home a 1-2-3 podium finish for New Orleans. But there’s still a few other teams that could snag the title. The drivers were handed their first route card, sending them off to Middendorf's for lunch. Team NOLA Bangers took pole position heading out of Memphis, but a number of teams jostled for position. Team Wheelz Up and Team N.O. Legs, the GT... more

BULLRUN 2013: Time to meet Elvis (Day 6)
Fri, 06/07/2013 - 5:20pm

The drivers awoke on day 5 in sunny Charleston, SC. Most of the drivers were ready to hit the road, but a few of us were up until the wee hours of the morning. But that’s the life of a Bullrunner. That night, rally newbies, Team 4Mati, were the victims of yet another rally prank. The guys weren’t too happy, but luckily the pranks on Bullrun are done in fun, and the aftermath was easily removed. After a big breakfast, the drivers received their route cards, sending them off to Tupelo, MS. Many teams were speculating that we would be heading off to Florida, but we like to keep everyone guessing! In order to receive their next route cards, drivers had to find the Tupelo town... more

BULLRUN 2013: Tail of the Dragon (Day 5)
Wed, 06/05/2013 - 8:49pm

The ralliers awoke in Charleston, South Carolina. The city was very hospitable to us, but Bullrun can’t hang around for long. The teams left the hotel with Tem Reicke in the silver Renntech Mercedes CL600 in the lead and Team NOLA Bangers right behind. The drivers were heading off for some tasty Barbecue at Cash’s Smokehouse BBQ in Franklin, NC. Many of the teams rallied together today as they headed off for lunch. The Wheelz Up GT-R soon took over for Jay Reicke leading the pack, but Ben Taylor in the silver Camaro and Michael Schwab in the green Panamera Turbo S were close in tow. Current rally leaders, Team Big Easy Banditz in their stealthy Mercedes ML 63 has been... more
